THE TOOL OF REACHING OUT…PHONE MEETINGS EMBODY THIS TOOL

A newcomer called into the Phone meeting and stayed after the mtg and shared how happy she was to have phoned in, listened, heard the preamble and the other members’ sharings. She was so enthused, and filled with hope. She had lost all hope trying so diligently in a different food related program to no avail, when her sponsor finally suggested she try ABA and gave her information about the two phone meetings.

She told her sponsor she was not going to hold her breath or get to excited, since she really didn’t think there were people out there that could possibly understand, or that she could identify with.

The newcomer was so thrilled that she was willing to call in, and found she was so wrong. She felt so comfortable and right at home with us on the phone meeting. She said that she had heard about the Monday Night Meeting, and now the Friday Morning, she wanted to know about other phone meetings that are available.

We let her know that today we only have two phone meetings, but in time that could change. With the ABA Fellowship growing, and the GSA committees working diligently on the many challenges faced ahead. It is our hope that groups in cities and countries will participate in telephone conferencing, and video conferencing and online meetings some day.
All this is being prayed about and looked at. With more and more members & newcomers being lead to ABA, and getting sober, and able to do service, H.P. will work things out however they are to be worked out.

For now we have our two-phone meeting and for this we are very grateful.
